The 750 Motor Club stand at the Autosport Racing Car Show at
the NEC was chosen as the venue for the launch of the new Sports
1000 Formula.
Over the years since its inception in 1939 the 750 Motor Club
has promoted racing formulae for the enthusiastic amateur. The
original formula was based on the Austin Seven and many notable
constructors cut their teeth and developed their skills in this
low cost arena. The list is long but some of the best known are
Colin Chapman, Eric Broadley, Arthur Mallock, Jem Marsh and Tony
Southgate.
Over the years other formulae have been added and the club now
hosts a total of 12 championships.
The new Sports 1000
follows the club's practice of having a very simple formula which
allows the maximum innovation whilst keeping the cost within the
reach of most enthusiasts.
