There is a wealth of different museums to choose
from. Included here are museums of cars,
commercial vehicles, motorcycles, racing
cars, military vehicles, horsedrawn carriages
and bicycles. They stretch from Cornwall
to Scotland and Kent to Killarney. They
vary in size from small, family run collections
to the large nationals.
All have one thing in common - an enthusiasm
for the subject.

Bargain buy by Lakeland.
Bluebird K4 replica boat now on show.
One of the features of the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year were the three Rolls-Royce powered record breakers, the Schneider Trophy aeroplane, and the Bluebird car which finally took the record in 1935 were both genuine. The K4 Bluebird boat, (the original of which no longer exists) was a reproduction made for Lord March by the Hothouse Movie Effects company, it is reputed to have cost over £35,000.
After the Festival of Speed it was consigned to auction where it was offered at no reserve. There appeared to be no interest, so Don Sidebottom who owns the Lakeland Motror Museum was able to buy it for just £1,000! Don, a great collector of Campbell memorabilia already has the replica of Donald Campbell’s 1967 K7 Hydroplane which was used in the BBC film “Across the Lake”.
